7 Tips to Improve your Chances of Getting Pregnant

Excitement, high spirits, anxiety, doubts— it’s a mixed bag of feelings when you decide to get pregnant. It is normal for couples who indulge in unprotected sex at least twice a week to expect pregnancy within a year. Stress and anxiety can affect your reproductive health, thereby delaying the process.

While almost 7.4% of couples in the United States are estimated to have fertility issues, several efforts are being made to reduce this number. We will discuss some easy yet important tips that might help you conceive.

If you plan to have a baby, remember that preconception health is essential to conceive and have a healthy baby. Here are 7 tips for you to get pregnant:

As you plan to get pregnant, talk to your doctor about these medications. Do not try any herbal remedies as they lack scientific evidence and may produce congenital disabilities.

  1. Manage Your Weight: Excess body weight may reduce your chances ofgetting pregnant. While body mass index (BMI) is considered the standard measure in weight management, a high BMI affects sperm count in men and fertility in women. Eat healthy food and stay active with a daily exercise routine to maintain a healthy weight.

  1. Time Your Intercourse: Talk to your doctor to know the precise, correct timing of good fertility that increases the chances of conception. Take ovulation tests, go for sonography, maintain a calendar, and time your intercourse on days when you have the highest chances ofgetting pregnant.

They affect your reproductive hormones; quitting them helpsimprove fertility.

  1. Enhance Your Lovemaking: Try having intercourse in a traditional position that allows deep insertion of the male sex organ inside a woman. Lie still for 20-30 mins and do not douche or wash after the intercourse to ensure the entry of sperms. Avoid using lubricants or creams.

  1. Reduce Your Mental Stress: A healthy mind nurtures a healthy body. Try relaxation techniques, love yourself, and don’t drag your work home. Spend quality time with your partner. Discuss with your doctor the proper measures you need to take if your stress doesn’t go away. It is essential to minimize stress toimprove fertility.

  1. Avoid exposure to pollutants: Stay away from chemical fumes, environmental pollution, toxic substances, or pesticides as they affect fertility in men and women.
